Tigers to Be Relocated

Due to the increase in the number of deaths caused by tiger attacks in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, the state government has decided to relocate 30 tigers from the district to other parts of Maharashtra.

Due to the increase in the number of deaths caused by tiger attacks in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, the state government has decided to relocate 30 tigers from the district to other parts of Maharashtra. The relocation will take place in two phases in which the tigers will be shifted to the Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve in Gondia district and other parts of the state. According to Maharashtra minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, taking these steps was necessary to decrease human-wildlife conflict and protect villagers.
