Tina and Tila

Rida Fathima, Class UKG, Scholars Academy, Chennai

Once upon a time, there was a big forest. In the forest lived two girls named Tina and Tila. Tila was a brave and intelligent girl, but Tina was an afraid girl and not so intelligent.

One day, a big snake came and fell asleep. Tina and Tila were playing with a ball. Tina threw the ball, and it landed on the snake. The snake woke up, but it said, “It’s alright, girls, but next time never ever do what you have just done.”

Tina ran slowly, but Tila held her hand and ran very fast. Then they both met a kingfisher. Tina and Tila were very happy to see the kingfisher, and they made the kingfisher their pet.

Then they went back to the snake and asked, “Can you be our pet, dear snake?”
The snake said, “Of course. I was also searching for a friend, and no one made me their pet or friend.”

They came back to their home and had nice tea and played with their toys. Suddenly, the snake started missing the forest and asked, “Can I go back?”

Tina said, “No, please stay here.”
But Tila said, “No, Tina. Let him go back to the forest and find a snake friend.”

As they were walking, they found a sparrow sitting on a nest. They saw that the sparrow’s eggs were cracking, and four baby sparrows hatched from the eggs. Tina and Tila were amazed.

Then they found a map. They thought it was a treasure map. They were doubtful at first, but they believed it was a treasure map and went in the direction shown on the map.

They walked for a long time, rested for some time, and then started the journey again. They kept going and going. At the end, they saw that the map showed the way out of the forest, and they went to their home happily.
