A Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) alumnus of Indian origin named Tushar Shah was part of Blue Origin’s New Shepard Mission NS-30 that launched on February 25. Shah was among six people aboard the NS-30 flight, a suborbital flight that lasted around 11 minutes. Shah, along with the other crewmembers, moved beyond the Kármán line, which is considered the edge of space, during their voyage. After Gopi Thotakura, who embarked on a space journey in May 2024, Shah is the second space tourist of Indian origin to travel on a New Shepard spacecraft. Shah completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from MIT.
