To popularise and promote the Odia language, Odisha’s Heritage Cabinet has decided to host the first World Odia Language Conference in February 2024. The conference will be attended by researchers and language experts from India and other parts of the world. The conference will also see the participation of students from across Odisha. The main objective of the conference is to boost the popularity of the language among the youth. Through the three-day conference, the Odisha government plans to engage experts and the public in discussions on the enhancement of the Odia language, incorporation of the language in the education system and policy formulation.
