Pranet Khetan, a class 11 student at Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, has created Paraspeak, a device that empowers patients with slurred speech by enabling them to communicate more easily. Paraspeak is artificial intelligence (AI)-powered and it enables individuals suffering from strokes and other neurological problems to express themselves better by turning unclear speech into Hindi. Pranet’s device was honoured with an award at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2025, a fair in the USA with student participants from various countries. Pranet is focussed on improving the device’s capabilities to help it cater to individuals speaking different Indian languages apart from Hindi.
