Sreedatta Karthikeya Gorthi, Class 8, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bengaluru
I feel deeply humbled to share a brief sketch of my innovation journey. My path has taken me through diverse pursuits—conducting research in quantum physics, working to educate underprivileged children in information technology, and expressing myself through poetry, particularly in Hindi. Along the way, I have also received training in ethics and penetration testing, which has shaped my perspective on responsible innovation.
One of my most meaningful contributions has been compiling and publishing a book on the history of Sri Ramanujacharya, titled Ramanuja Revolution, under the pen name S.D.K. Gorthi. I was honored to be awarded membership in the Product Development and Management Organization, an international body that connects innovators across the globe.
In recent years, I have conceptualized and developed a prototype to address pressing challenges with current hand-dryer technology. This innovation, named Ampere’s Hand Dryer, incorporates self-sterilization, vapor reclamation, and enhanced efficiency features. With its potential to advance public health worldwide, it has already garnered recognition and an invitation to present at Bosch.
I have been privileged to establish an unincorporated nonprofit initiative, the Sivodayam Foundation, dedicated to advancing service across the nation. Through this effort, I have been grateful to help initiate governmental action addressing the alarming deaths of sparrows in a suburb of Maharashtra, and to contribute to their conservation.
I remain grateful for these opportunities and view each milestone not as a personal achievement alone, but as a step toward contributing meaningfully to society.
