Several blocks of halloumi cheese, a type of cheese from Cyprus that is made from sheep’s and goat’s milk, were dis-covered in an ancient tomb by Egyptian archaeologists. The cheese was found inside clay pots that were inscribed with an ancient Egyptian script at the Saqqara necropolis in Egypt. According to archaeologists, this cheese dates back to the 26th and 27th Egyptian dynasties and is around 2,600 years old.
