That drown the streets, that swallow up the lanes.
Have you ever seen the Great Mumbai Rains,
That delay the flights, that delay the trains.
When lightning thunders up in the sky,
When none of the clothes in balconies keep dry.
But rains are just like heaven for trees,
When they sway and dance and wave their leaves.
When drops fall with gentle ‘plops’,
When kids twirl in the park to feel the drops.
When school gets cancelled cause of storms,
No need to hand in your absentee forms.
Along with the rains come many memories.
Many adventures, many stories.
