Heatwaves led to wildfires in several regions across Europe, including Portugal, Spain and France, leading to the evacuation of hundreds of people. Temperatures in some regions of Spain and France reached more than 40°C. France’s Aude region was ravaged by a wildfire, the country’s biggest wildfire in several years. Additionally, Greece experienced numerous fires, including a wildfire in Keratea that caused significant damage to property and land. According to experts, the instances of wildfires have increased due to dry conditions and a rise in temperatures caused by climate change.
