A 14-year-old boy from Delhi named Madhav Gopal Kamath has established a new benchmark by winning the 2025 World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC). Having secured 21 wins across 24 rounds, Madhav became the first Indian to triumph as the tournament champion. The tournament, which took place in Malaysia, saw the participation of more than 200 players under the age of 18 years from various countries. Madhav’s Scrabble journey began at the age of six and at present, he holds the 8th position across all age groups globally.
