In a surprising event, mosquitoes have been found on the island of Iceland. Researchers confirmed the presence of three specimens belonging to the Culiseta annulate species, marking the first time that mosquitoes have been detected in the country. Experts believe trade activities and travel between countries could have led to the arrival of mosquitoes in Iceland. Additionally, the environment in the region has become more favourable for mosquitoes to survive due to warmer temperatures.
