- To drive advancement in the aquaculture and fisheries domains in Lakshadweep, the Lakshadweep administration partnered with the Centre to bring together investors from across India.
- The meet aimed at boosting the export of fish and related items and tackling problems associated with their storage and logistics. It also gave investors a medium to present their suggestions for improvements in infrastructure, production management and handling and several other areas.
- Sectors such as seaweed cultivation and tuna production, which have the potential for growth, were also among the areas of focus.
- Through this initiative, the Indian government intends to harness Lakshadweep’s resources to fuel economic growth.
