Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) have formulated a technique to extract metals from electronic waste (e-waste) without impacting the environment. This eco-friendly technique involves making use of natural substances to create solvents that help dissolve metals such as copper and iron, allowing their extraction from e-waste products. Through further processes, scientists created nanoparticles of the metals, which have numerous uses across industries. According to experts, this technique is more efficient and environmentally friendly in comparison to traditional recycling techniques that give rise to harmful emissions.
