To boost the production of green energy in Assam, a solar power plant with a generation capacity of 25MW was inaugurated at Lalpul in the Udalguri district of Assam. Close to 65,000 people in the area will benefit from this solar power project that has been installed under the Assam Solar Energy Policy 2017. In the next five years, the government plans to increase the state’s dependence on nonconventional sources of energy and hopes that 50% of Assam’s power demand will be met through solar energy.
