Butterflies: A Delight of Nature

Arshia Singla, Class 6, Rockwoods International School, Hyderabad

Leaves rustle and the wind sighs,
like a pale ghost in the night sky,
There it goes as gentle as a breeze,
Soaring in the night sky with such ease.
Wings colourful like a rainbow,
Yellow and red, Blue and purple,
A sprinkle of orange and shiny green.
Its beauty stretches for a mile,
With wings flapping all this while.
A butterfly look there it goes,
As tiny as a dot in the night sky.
A peaceful night with gentle wind,
It sounds like the perfect moment to sink,
Like a diamond studded in a ring.
A butterfly look there it goes,
As tiny as a dot in the night sky.
With the light of flames,
Dancing at midnight,
A pretty little flower,
All alone at sight.
With nectar so sweet,
Oh! What a tasty treat.
It flew up the tree
ever so free,
A butterfly look there it goes,
as tiny as a dot in the night sky.
