To elevate the care provided to elephants and improve their health, Vantara, an animal rehabilitation and rescue initiative launched by Anant Ambani, undertook a training programme for elephant caretakers. This initiative, called ‘Vantara Gajsevak Sammelan’, was undertaken in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change’s Project Elephant and spanned five days. It saw the participation of numerous elephant caretakers from all around India and was the largest initiative of its kind in the country. It was held in Jamnagar and included training in a range of areas from dealing with elephant illnesses to elephant bathing methods.
