Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Appoints First Woman Director General

Nina Singh has been appointed as the director general (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) by the centre, which makes her the first woman to serve in this post.

Nina Singh has been appointed as the director general (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) by the centre, which makes her the first woman to serve in this post. Singh, who is a 1989-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Rajasthan cadre, will head the CISF, an organisation that provides security services to the Delhi Metro, government establishments, airports, monuments and other important buildings across India. Singh has been associated with the CISF since 2021 and has served in various roles. She was the first female officer to hold the rank of DG in Rajasthan. During her career, she served as the member secretary of the Rajasthan State Commission for Women and initiated an outreach programme that helped women across the state to protect their rights. She also served as the joint director at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from 2013 to 2018, where she investigated several high-profile cases.
