Facts about Chidambaram Thillai Natraja temple :-
The Thillai Nataraja temple is located in a divine and historic city of Cholas in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu.
1) This temple is dedicated to Lord Nataraja, whose cosmic energy is considered to be the same as black hole.
2) This temple consists of 120 Bharatnatyam sculptures arranged in a row.
3) Consists of four gopurams facing four directions.
4) Inside the Lord Nataraja’s chamber, there is a gopurams plated with gold and silver.
5)This temple also has a marvellous lord Vishnu’s sculpture shown in more historic films.
6) The Nataraja statue is a marvellous art of Cholas built by Parantaka Chola 1, using metals like bronze, gold, silver and brass, depicting the ferocious dance of Lord Nataraja.
7) This temple was later renovated by their successors.
8) When Pandayas destroyed cholas, they built the south gopuram of the temple.
