In a bid to safeguard the environment and combat climate change, the beverage company Coca-Cola is hoping to manufacture its bottle caps using carbon dioxide extracted from the atmosphere. The company is working with Swansea University in the UK to test this technique. If the initial trials prove successful, there are plans to scale up to this eco-friendly technique. So far, the company has relied on fossil fuels to produce most of its plastic packaging materials.
