Division of Numbers Ending in Zeroes

To divide a number that ends in zeroes by another number that ends in zeroes, cancel the same number of zeroes at the end of both numbers to simplify the problem. Then divide.

For example: Let’s take 25,000 ÷ 500Cancel two zeroes from the end of each of the numbers. We are left with 250 and 5.Now, divide 250 by 5: 250 ÷ 5 = 50The answer is 50.So, 25,000 ÷ 500 = 50Try these at home: 40,000 ÷ 20 = _____1,80,000 ÷ 900 = _____80,000 ÷ 400 = _____ Bookmark(0)
