Feathered Friends – Birds

Sai Harshitha M, Class 6, Amberwood International School, Nellore

Umpteen they flock in the sky
Soaring up ever so high
Caring parents devoted
Songs a present to the world
They boast a rainbow of colours
Both beautiful and rare
Their fluffy feathers go flip-flap
To soar up in the trees
These majestic creatures glide
To see a birds eye view
Catch every single detail
To grow against man’s tidal waves
Mother knows all in life
To teach little chicks to grow
They fall down when start to fly
Lift their heads up, once again try
They tower above the people
Like man always sought to do
Wake at dawn to feed and hunt
Back home to dream at dusk
Their melodies they show
In forests quite a racket
In country a sweet regularity
While in cities natures breadth
They show morality in all that they do
“Look up and try again” baby birds tweet
“Work hard and do the best” birds twitter
Like a phoenix from the ashes, again regrow
