Multiplication of Two-digit Numbers by 11

To multiply two-digit numbers by 11, add the digits in the tens and units place of the number. Once the sum of the digits is obtained, place it between those digits. This method works only if the sum of the digits is a number below 10.

For example:  34 × 11  Add the digits in the tens and units place of ‘34’: 3 + 4 = 7  Now, place ‘7’ between  the numbers ‘3’ and ‘4’: 374  The answer is 374 So 34 × 11 = 374  Try these at home:  42 × 11 = ______ 54 × 11 =______&nbs
