Nine schools in Punjab were tagged ‘green’ by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE). The CSE’s Green Schools Programme (GSP) assessed 550 schools across India to examine the schools’ usage of energy, waste management methods and pollution control strategies. 15 schools won the top 2021-2022 Annual Green Schools Awards and 110 schools across the country bagged ‘green’ tags for the efficient management of resources. GSP raises environmental awareness among students and encourages them to protect the environment.
