Green Trees

Aavya.A.Datt, Class 5, Meru International School, Hyderabad

When the world Pauses
When the world slows down, and the clocks hold their breath,
When even the wind forgets where to go—
I sit with my thoughts, like old friends in a room,
And ask them the things I never show.
Do you ever feel lost, I whisper aloud,
In a world that spins too fast to see?
They nod, those thoughts, with quiet grace,
And remind me: it’s okay just to be.
I trace the light crawling across my floor,
It’s golden, soft— like a memory’s sigh.
Not everything broken needs to be fixed,
Some things are meant to cry.
The stars don’t compete with the city lights,
They just wait till the city sleeps.
Then they rise like little promises—
Small, but they run deep.
So here I am— heart not perfect, but whole,
A little worn, a little wise.
And maybe that’s enough tonight
Under these gentle skies.
