People in Kyrgyzstan are opting to build houses with bricks composed of rice husk instead of materials such as concrete that are traditionally used in construction. Nursultan Taabaldyev from Batken, Kyrgyzstan, was instrumental in exploring the technology of creating bricks from rice husk. He creates bricks by mixing husk with cement, clay and a glue that does not contain chemicals. These bricks are strong and provide an eco-friendly way to tackle agricultural waste.
