I witnessed India’s freedom fight; where Tilak, Ambedkar, Savarkar et al fought with their might. Come to my temples, forts, beaches and more; revel in my traditions and folklore. I am the land of Bhakti and Satsang; Dyana, Tuka, Namdev, Bharud and Abhang. My poetic heritage needs no introduction; Madgulkar, Kusumagraj, Balkavi my masters of creation. Music and dance Oh! What abundance; Powada, Lavani, Natyasangeet, Kolidance; choose your indulgence. I am a vibrant society, celebrating festivals with pomp and gaiety. Ganapati is my favourite God; whose worship overcomes all odds. Marathwada, Vidarbha, Paschim Maharashtra and Konkan regions; exhibit a kaleidoscope of my gastronomical combinations. I am Alphonso, the king of Fruits; sugar appetite of India I moot. Mallakhamb and Kushti are my traditional sports; Warli artforms and rangolis trace my ethnic roots. Mumbai, my capital; country’s financial hub. I am home of Bollywood, India’s entertainment club I am Lata Mangeshkar, the voice of India; I am Sachin Tendulkar, the god of cricketmania. I am Ajanta, Ellora, Raigarh; Sindhudurg, Tadoba, Panhalgarh. Many more treasures I have for you, to mesmerize, cherish and rejuvenate you. Those shall be for another time; for now, let the above make you happy and chime. Oh! What a journey it has been, to show you my pride, my esteem.
