Indian-origin Author Earns Spot in Booker Prize 2025 Longlist

Indian-origin author Kiran Desai’s book, ‘The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny’ has been included in the longlist of the Booker Prize 2025.

Indian-origin author Kiran Desai’s book, ‘The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny’ has been included in the longlist of the Booker Prize 2025. Desai is among 13 authors whose work has been longlisted for the prestigious award. ‘The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny’ is a novel about two youngsters from India who discover more about themselves while dealing with family challenges, loneliness and other hardships that affect their journeys. The release of the novel, which is Desai’s first in around two decades, is slated for September. Desai’s ‘The Inheritance of Loss’ bagged the Booker Prize in the year 2006. She also authored ‘Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard’.
