Medha Roopam, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2014 batch, has assumed the role of the district magistrate of Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Gautam Budh Nagar. This appointment was a result of a reshuffle of administrative positions in the UP government. It makes her the first woman to hold this post. Roopam, who has administrative experience in several regions, is the daughter of Gyanesh Kumar, the chief election commissioner of India. Her experience includes working as the district magistrate of Kasganj and Hapur and Greater Noida Authority’s additional chief executive officer.
