- Technology company Meta is in the process of creating a wristband capable of helping users operate devices, including computers, without any physical motion. The device, resembling a smartwatch, was tested on many volunteers.
- With the help of surface electromyography (sEMG), the wristband tracks the muscles’ electric signals, enabling the wearer to carry out tasks by merely thinking about them.
- This technology recognises the wearer’s intent to carry out a task, such as starting an application on a device, and responds accordingly.
- According to researchers, it could help individuals suffering from paralysis or other disabilities to operate devices.
