The Day I lost Someone Special.

Ayaan Nathani, Class 9, Heritage Xperential Learning School, Gurugram

It takes seconds for you to love someone with all your heart. But it takes years for you to forget them. Though it was that one-minute call over the grim news that shattered my heart into pieces. The call of hearing that my closest friend had passed away was an array of emotions. Sure, we had our fights, our arguments, yet not once did it feel like we hated each other. And that’s the sign of true friendship. Days passed, and still that call replays like a horror story in my mind. The image of his crying parents, crying friends was something that I could never get over. The rain on the wooden roof of his funeral, the blurry vision and the dripping of rain on my glasses. The vision may have been blurry on that day, but even now, years later, it’s clear as day. And it’s gonna take a lifetime to get over it.
