The Mountain

Dhriti Panwar, Class 7, Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Dehradun

The solitary, snow-capped highland
Overlooking all plains, seas and lands
Above the clouds, at mystical heights
Stands a mountain where birds seldom take flight
Too tall to be true
All alone it grew
Composed of a million rocks
Talking to the hawks
Stands a mountain so majestic
Its beauty is authentic
Rugged and lofty
Climbing it is not to be taken softly
Oh! its the mountain
Touching the heavens
