The Napkin

Karthi Anil, Class 8, St Thomas

It was a usual busy sunny day at school everything goes normal and I was going to home walking with my heavy bag in my shoulders and I was tired as usual. While almost I was halfway home as I heard a sound of Joy and excitement.
When I looked it was a pleasant baby screaming from Joy. He was playing with a napkin watching it fall to the ground in a wobbling way. Then he thought of testing that on a balcony he ran towards it with a Joy of curiosity.

When he was approaching it the mom saw what was that child doing She tried to stop him by slapping him hard at his back the worst part was that the fence where secured and had no way of kid falling down and the napkin was also not going to cover in mud.

It really hurt me when the joy of an Innocent kid turned into a face of sadness & he screamed in pain and I could not handle it. The mother take that child inside the room and closed the door thinking it’s not safe outside it was secured inside.

l am sure that boy will remember that moment for rest of his life. I remembered the moment that happens years back and I continued walking to home while wondering why not the mother go downstairs and pick up the napkin rather beating the joy out of that baby?
