This book is a collection of translated stories from various regional languages—Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Punjabi and Sindhi. Each story has a short write-up on why the translator chose that particular author and his/ her story. The stories start with a traditional state-specific painting that translates the story into an artform. For example, the story from Gujarat has a Pithora painting and the story from Karnataka has a Chittara wall painting. Each story ends with a short profile of the author and the translator. A must read.
