TM Krishna Wins Sangita Kalanidhi Award

The Music Academy, Madras, honoured Indian Carnatic singer Thodur Madabusi Krishna, better known as TM Krishna, with the Sangita Kalanidhi Award for making use of music to encourage social reforms and for various other contributions to music.

The Music Academy, Madras, honoured Indian Carnatic singer Thodur Madabusi Krishna, better known as TM Krishna, with the Sangita Kalanidhi Award for making use of music to encourage social reforms and for various other contributions to music. Krishna is also an activist and author of many books including ‘A Southern Music: The Karnatik Story’. His work focuses on cultural issues, the caste system and other social matters. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards such as the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration and the Swathi Sangeetha Puraskaram.
