Vande Bharat Trains to Be Upgraded

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the union minister for railways, communication, electronics and information technology, has stated that an upgraded second version of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains will be launched by the Indian Railways in August 2022.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the union minister for railways, communication, electronics and information technology, has stated that an upgraded second version of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains will be launched by the Indian Railways in August 2022. The current Vande Bharat trains that can run at a speed of 160kms/hr began operations in 2019. The trains currently operate on two routes, from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra and New Delhi to Varanasi. The upcoming second and third versions of the train will run at speeds of 180 and 220kms/hr respectively.
