In today’s modern world, people enjoy many things that make life easier and more comfortable. We have cars to travel faster, factories that produce goods quickly, air conditioners to stay coSuh ahrm can lead to species becoming extinct.ol, and plastic items for everyday use. The people disturb the environment by polluting it since they use the cars, trucks etc. dump non-biodegradable waste in water bodies and on land henceforth polluting the environment. Have you ever wondered why the environment is polluted by the people? The answer lies in the quest to progress. Use of better technology and increased use of goods are all signs of progress, but they also bring harm to our environment.
Cars and factories release smoke and harmful gases into the air, which leads to air pollution. This makes it harder to breathe and can cause health problems like asthma. Plastic, though useful, is often thrown away carelessly. It does not break down easily and ends up in rivers, oceans, and on land, harming animals and polluting our water. Cutting down trees to build houses and roads also leads to deforestation, which affects animals and causes climate change. These are the hidden costs of convenience.
People are sometimes being very selfish, though at times it could be a compulsion too. For example, the factories have to exist as there can’t be any life without factories. We need the clothes we wear, plastic items, cars and vehicles to travel. While it’s good to have new inventions and technology, we must be careful not to hurt nature in the process.
Environment is a natural resource and a God given gift to us. If we do bad to our surroundings we spoil the beauty of the environment and disturb the natural environmental cycles. We have to take the responsibility for any bad done to the environment by us. Also, we need to understand that we are in a symbiotic relationship where any bad done by us will be harmful to the animals and plants. Such harm can lead to species becoming extinct.
We can help mother Earth by reducing waste, reusing items, recycling, planting trees, and using public transport or bicycles when possible. The simplest ways are to just plant a sapling and as we will do it the people around us will be influenced by us and will do the same for the welfare of the environment. We can use the electric vehicles and increase usage of recyclable bags when we go shopping. One-time usable plastic products and non-biodegradable waste should be reduced. Paper products like paper bags should be brought into usage. We can walk to a nearby market rather than using a vehicle. It even helps keeping our body fit.
We should respect our nature and nurture it carefully, being a person of the country we should also help the environment. If each one of us makes small changes, we can enjoy the benefits of progress without harming our planet.
