To instill environmental values in students, Walsingham House School, Mumbai, initiated a project called ‘My Environment, My Responsibility’. Through this project, students learnt to protect the environment through school activities and subjects throughout the year. As part of the project, students from classes 1 to 4 presented a skit that portrayed the damage caused to Mother Earth due to waste generation, pollution and other negligent human activities. With dialogues and music, the skit also offered measures to mitigate the harmful effects of human activities through the implementation of sustainable development goals (SDGs) and other responsible actions. Students reused old uniforms as costumes for the skit. Repurposed items such as cushions made from old T-shirts, Warli art gift bags made from newspapers and planters made from plastic cans, all created by students, were displayed at the school’s exhibition, integrating environmental responsibility with creativity.
