The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA’s) Artemis 1 mission will take off in March 2022 to send an Orion spacecraft to the moon. The cabin will be a largely empty space that will be used by an interactive tablet called Callisto, which will sit propped up to face an astronaut mannequin.

Callisto is a touchscreen device that features a reconfigured version of Alexa, which is Amazon’s voice assistant, and Cisco’s teleconferencing platform WebEx. It is part of a collaboration between Amazon, Cisco and Lockheed Martin, which built the Orion capsule for NASA. Amazon plans to roll out a new feature for Alexa device users whereby the command “Alexa, take me to the Moon” will enable the device to give live updates on the Artemis 1 mission.
