Encouraging Self-reliance 

To encourage children to choose goods and services developed in India, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has introduced modules focussed on the concept of Swadeshi. Through ‘Swadeshi: For a Self-Reliant India’ and ‘Swadeshi: Vocal for Local’ for secondary and middle school stages, respectively, children are being introduced to the role of conscious choices in empowering India. The modules showcase the history of Swadeshi and also bring attention to modern initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India. They also include messages from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on Independence Day and shed light on the importance of enhancing artificial intelligence (AI) tools within the country.
