What you need to do to build a career as a epidemiologist.

An epidemiologist is a health professional who studies the outbreak of diseases, their source, development and spread. An epidemiologist provides recommendations on the measures that need to be taken to prevent and control disease outbreaks.

To be an epidemiologist one must complete:

  • Class 12 in science
  • 3-year bachelor’s degree in science (BSc) in public health
  • 2-year master’s degree in science (MSc) in epidemiology

Career Options: An epidemiologist can work with the government, a hospital, a healthcare institution, a research company or a university.
Job Roles: Biostatistician, epidemiologist, public health officer, epidemiology associate engineer, editor-epidemiology, infection preventionist and professor.
