Japanese-style Pod Hotel Opens in Mumbai

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) in association with Indian Railways has started a pod hotel at Mumbai Central railway station.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) in association with Indian Railways has started a pod hotel at Mumbai Central railway station. Passengers will now be able to use this facility at a minimal cost of ₹999 for 12 hours and ₹1,999 for a 24-hour stay. The hotel has 48 small bed-sized capsules equipped with facilities like Wi-Fi, television, a small locker, a mirror and reading lights among other things. The hotel includes classic pods, private pods, pods for ladies only and pods for the differently-abled too. This kind of pod hotel was first started in Japan.
