Multiplication of Large Numbers

Two large numbers, one of which is even, can be multiplied easily using this method. First, divide the even number by 2. Then, multiply the second number by 2. Multiply the resultant numbers to get the final answer.

For example: Let’s take 40 × 155 Divide 40 by 2: 40 ÷ 2 = 20 Multiply the second number, which is 155 by 2: 155 × 2 = 310 Now, multiply the resultant numbers together: 20 × 310 = 6,200 The answer is 6,200 So, 40 × 155 = 6,200 Try these at home: 20 × 131 = _____60 × 112 = _____80 ×
